Mtibwa Club History

Mtibwa Sugar Sports Club which is located in Mvomero district about 100 kms from Morogoro region, was formed in 1988 by a group of workers of Mtibwa Sugar Estates Ltd who decided to form a football team which will take part in league competitions in district level. The team started playing in 4th division league in 1989 and steadily climbed up the ladder of success which saw the team finally getting a promotion to first division league in 1996. The league was restructured in 1998 and became Premier League Division. Mtibwa Sugar which is currently coached by former national team player and coach, the legendary Abdallah Kibaden ‘King’, reigns second in the ongoing premier league with 23 points, one point behind the leaders Tanzania Prisons FC.
